This family-run restaurant lies just a stone’s throw away from the shipping docks at the Bosphorus and is one of the popular lunch spots. The menu is classic Turkish food with a lot of attention to detail and very reasonable prices. Especially famous is their Hünkar beğendi, a leftover from the Ottoman imperial kitchen: slow-cooked beef served on a bed of smoky eggplant puree. For dinner, they offer various mezes, grilled fish and meat dishes. We love the delicious, very tender grilled octopus. The thinly sliced fried liver is great, too! And make sure to not miss their homemade yoghurt on the side.
