Eleos Beyoglu is a Greek restaurant at the end of Istiklal street, located on the second floor. The entrance might not look very inviting (which tends to be the case in many places that are secret gems) but once you enter the restaurant, the blue-white nautical schemed interior is more than welcoming. In combination with a breath-taking view over the Bosphorus, Eleos offers a perfect setting for a great dinner. The menu is similar to Turkish seafood restaurants, starting with a big variety of cold mezzes (appetizers) that are presented on a preview tray to every table. You shouldn’t miss their kavun-beyaz peynir (a combination of cheese and melon) or their coban salata (a salad with tomatoes, green peppers and onions). Cold mezzes are followed by hot mezzes ranging from jumbo shrimp and octopus to fried calamari and a great concoction of lobster, crab and cream (ıstakoz kavurma). Main dishes are fish, the variety depends on the season. The fish is followed with a selection of fruit and desserts for those who have some sweet cravings. The service at Eleos is great and the prices are very reasonable.
